Janice Xu, Associate Professor of Communications, presented a paper at the international conference “Communication, Media, and Governance in the Age of Globalization” in Beijing, China, in June 2018. The paper title is “Tourist Social Media and Environmental Awareness: A Study of English and Chinese Content on Mt. Emei Natural Ecology Monkey Reserve.” The paper analyzes Trip advisor posts by tourists of different origins and compares their notion of eco preservation and level of satisfaction with wildlife tourism.
